Our Team
Harvey McCormick
Mr. McCormick was born and bred in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. He graduated from the College of Charleston with a double major in business and economics and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina in 1993. After law school, Mr. McCormick served as an Assistant Solicitor for the 14th Judicial Circuit which comprises the counties of Beaufort, Jasper, Colleton, Hampton and Allendale. During his tenure at the Solicitor's office, Mr. McCormick was appointed by U.S. Attorney, Pete Strom, as Special Prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney's Violent Crime Task Force. As and Assistant Solicitor, he tried in excess of one hundred criminal cases to verdict.
In 1996, Mr. McCormick accepted a position with the insurance defense firm of Griffith and Sadler. At Griffith and Sadler, Mr. McCormick honed his skills in civil law trying in excess of fifty cases many of which were multiple day trials.
In the year 2000, Mr. McCormick formed the McCormick Law Firm specializing in all forms of litigation. There he has taken the skills he learned in both criminal and civil litigation to the next level.
Mr. McCormick is a certified Circuit Court Mediator and has presided over Fast Track Jury Trials in Beaufort and Jasper Counties. In 2017, he was named by the Beaufort Gazette as Beaufort's Best Attorney.
Mr. McCormick is married with three children. He is active in the community and in his church.
